Guiding principles

Each situation asks for a specific approach. There are hardly any blue prints at hand. But concerning beliefs & behavior there is some DNA material that is embodied in Dinand's way or working.

  • Success

Enlarge the probability of success of your venture is what it’s about. Your success is the success. And hey, not trying to be altruistic here, that’s how Dinand makes a living and the lime light is not something he gets excited by

  • Values

    1. Do what you gotta do
    2. Walk your talk
    3. It’s not about you
    4. Succeed fast, but fail faster
    5. “I don’t like that man, I’m going get to know him better'” (Abraham Lincoln)

  • Leadership

Set preconditions and facilitate, but also, intervene, direct, and exert influence. Such personal interventions require self-knowledge and an active interest in other people. Detect pattern breaks, but create them as well: momentum!

  • Working with professionals

Manager’s ‘spreadsheet fetishism’ kills the soul and drive of professionals. Make it possible for them to thrive and then get out of the way

  • What makes people tick?!

No idea! Wouldn’t you be insulted by ‘motivational’ programs?! Respect your people, create opportunity for people to motivate themselves by what they’re doing. Listen & support. But do challenge

  • Sustainability

‘Creating better lives for people now and generations to come’ is part of the vision of the much respected client DSM. Why re-phraze something that’s already put into words so adequate. It’s a principle to be inspired by

Boost your probability of success .

Teaming up

Dinand is inspired by Charles Handy’s organizational principle of the ‘inverted donought’: virtual enterprise design. A design that matches the clients interest best is an organization that adapts to the client's need. Building and leading a team with the best of your people is what Dinand prefers. The project is not kidnapped by an external consultancy that doesn't mix with your organization and culture. And everything that has been created, including the way of woking, doesn't exit together with the consultancy. Only add from outside what's really lacking. It works, the track record proves it.

  • Dinand Abels

    Project Director

Dinand is the core of Walk the Talk. He has directed many (international) projects for all companies mentioned in the client list. The aviation industry, together with life sciences/health care, are his special area of interest.

According to clients what’s typical Dinand: level-headed, strategic, gets-things-done, vision-enabler, ambitious but no hunger for the lime light. But above all he’s a connector of people on all hierarchal levels, ideas and interests. Not do-able is not easily found in his dictionary.

  • Your people ready for Virtuoso Teams

Virtuoso teams outperform the regular way of working. They are built with your own people. Each project start up we (you, me, the team) spend serious effort in establishing the team culture we need and embed the project in it’s environment. For your people these teams are quite demanding, but fun and rewarding to work in. By the way, don’t only select the obvious team members, there’s a lot of hidden talent that adds to the diversity and vitality we need.

  • Pool of talented & experienced professionals

When there is need to add specific expertise or ways of working Dinand cooperates with a pool of professionals originating from many disciplines and backgrounds. What we share are our values and guiding principles. But concerning everything else, wow, do we differ from each other!
